Somebody actually tries the codes
Most coupon sites scrape codes from wherever they can find them and publish the lot. That is why you end up pasting six codes into a checkout box and watching all six fail.
We do it the slow way. Before a code goes on the site, one of us opens the store, puts something in the basket and types the code in. If it does not take money off, it does not get published. It really is that simple, and it is the only reason this page exists.
The steps a code goes through
Every code follows the same route, whether it came from a store, an affiliate network, or a reader who sent it in.
- It arrives. Sources are the store itself, the affiliate network feed, our own editors, and readers using the submit an offer form. Nothing skips the queue because of where it came from.
- Someone reads the terms. Minimum spend, first order only, excluded brands, one use per customer. If a rule exists, it belongs on the page.
- We put it in a real basket. An editor opens the store, adds a qualifying item and pastes the code at the checkout.
- We watch the total. The discount has to actually come off, and it has to match what the offer claims. A code that says 20 percent and takes off 5 does not go up as 20 percent.
- It gets labelled. Working codes are published and marked Verified with the date. Anything that fails is either corrected or thrown out. It never gets published on the chance that it might work for somebody.
- It gets rechecked. Live codes go back through the same test on a schedule, and sooner if a reader tells us one has stopped working.
Deals that need no code get the same treatment. We follow the link ourselves and check the price is really lower before we call it a deal.
Who does the checking
The codes and the pages around them are handled by our own editors, not by an automated feed left to run on its own. Every store page names the person who last updated it, and you can read what each of them works on.
You can see everyone who writes for the site on the authors page.
Our editorial policy
Two rules sit above everything else here.
A store cannot buy its way onto a page. Paying us does not get an offer listed, does not move it higher, and does not stop us marking it expired when it stops working. Stores have no say over what we publish about them.
We do not publish what we have not checked. If we cannot get a code to work, it does not go up. If a page has nothing worth having on it that day, we would rather say so than pad the list out.
Offer copy is written by our editors. Where a store supplies wording, we rewrite it in plain English and drop any claim we cannot verify.
How to use a code at checkout
Click any step to see what it looks like on screen.
1
Find the store you are shopping with, look through the codes and offers on its page, then press "Get Code" or "Get Deal" on the one you want.
2
Copy the code that appears, follow the link through to the store, and fill your basket the way you normally would.
3
At the checkout, look for the box marked "Promo Code" or "Discount Code". Paste the code in and press "Apply".
4
The total should drop straight away. If nothing changes, go back and try the next code on the list, then tell us which one failed.
Codes expire, and we deal with it
A code that worked on Monday can be switched off on Tuesday without warning. No coupon site can stop that from happening. What we can do is notice quickly.
Our team goes back through the busiest stores every day and rechecks what is listed. Anything dead gets pulled or marked as expired instead of being quietly left up to waste your time.
If you find one we missed, tell us on the contact page. Send the store name and the code and we will test it the same day. This is genuinely the fastest way to get it fixed, and we would rather hear about it than not.
How we make money
Worth saying plainly. BunnyCoupon is free to use, and we do not ask you to register or hand over any details to see a code. When you use one of our links and go on to buy something, the store sometimes pays us a small commission. You pay the same price either way.
That commission does not decide what we publish. A store paying us does not get a broken code listed, and a store paying us nothing still gets listed if the offer is good. If the two ever pulled in different directions, the working code wins, because a site full of dead codes is worth nothing to anybody.
What we are not
We are not a shop. We do not sell anything, take payments or post parcels, and we have no access to your order. If a delivery is late or you want a refund, the store you bought from is the only one who can sort that out.
We also do not pretend that every store has a code. Sometimes there is nothing worth having, and on those pages we would rather say so than pad the list out with codes we know are dead.
When we get something wrong
We do get things wrong. A discount gets typed in as the wrong figure, a rule gets missed, a date is off. When that happens we fix the page itself rather than quietly leaving it and hoping nobody noticed.
- A wrong code or a wrong discount figure is corrected or removed the same day we hear about it.
- An offer whose terms we described incorrectly gets the terms rewritten, not deleted, so anyone who was misled can see what actually changed.
- If a mistake was ours and it cost you time, tell us on the contact page and you will get a straight answer about what happened.
Every store page carries the name of the editor who last updated it and the date, so you can always see how fresh what you are reading is.
How to reach us
If a code failed, an expiry date looks wrong, or something on the site is just annoying to use, send it over. You can reach us on the contact page or by email at info@bunnycoupon.com.
Found a good deal we have not listed? Send that too, on the submit an offer page. We check it the same way we check our own.
