Does Pixlr have a student discount?
Pixlr runs its own programme called Pixlr for Education, which it describes as free Pixlr for schools, educators and students alike. It is not a percentage off. Students at an approved school get free access at no cost.
How students get it
Pixlr does not accept applications from individual students. Instead, a teacher or administrator applies on behalf of the school. Once the school is approved, its email domain is whitelisted, and students simply create a free Pixlr account with their school email address to receive the upgrade.
- Ask a teacher or school administrator to apply for Pixlr for Education.
- Wait for the school registration to be approved, which Pixlr says takes around 48 hours.
- Sign up on Pixlr using your school email address.
What students get
- An ad-free experience
- Access to AI tools
- Limited access to Pixlr Editor and Pixlr Express
- Access to the Pixlr mobile apps
- Ready-to-use templates, overlays, icons and decorative text
Who qualifies
The programme is aimed at secondary school (high school) level and above, which Pixlr says usually means students around 13 years old and older. Your school must be a recognised educational institution and must be approved by Pixlr first.
