Black Friday 2026 Deals Guide: Sale Dates by Store, Real Discounts and Price Match Rules

Black Friday 2026 is on Friday, November 27, and Cyber Monday follows on November 30. But if you wait until that week to start shopping, you will miss half the deals. Lowe's starts its Black Friday savings on October 29, Costco's first holiday sale begins October 30, and Target's early Black Friday sale runs November 5 to 7. This guide brings together every confirmed 2026 date, what each big store did last year, the real numbers behind Black Friday discounts, and the price-match and return rules most shoppers only discover too late. Black Friday 2026 Sale Dates by Store

Some stores have already announced their 2026 plans. For the others, the dates below are what they did in 2025, which is usually a good guide to the year after. We will update this table as new dates are confirmed.

Walmart, Costco, Lowe's and Kohl's have said their stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Black Friday by the Numbers: How Big Are the Discounts Really?

According to Adobe, which tracks online sales at major US retailers, shoppers spent a record $11.8 billion online on Black Friday 2025, $6.4 billion on Thanksgiving and $14.25 billion on Cyber Monday. Across the whole Cyber Week, from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday, online spending reached $44.2 billion.

Adobe also measured how deep the discounts went at their peak during Cyber Week 2025:

Two lessons stand out. First, the "70% off" banners are the exception, not the rule. The average peak discount on electronics was about 31%. Second, discounts drop quickly after Cyber Monday, so if you see a fair price during Cyber Week, it is usually the best you will get before Christmas. Toys are the one category where deals stayed fairly strong into the first week of December.

What to Expect at the Biggest Stores

Amazon

Amazon runs a Black Friday Week rather than a single day. In 2025 it started on November 20 and ran through Cyber Monday. Expect the deepest cuts on Amazon's own devices, such as Echo, Kindle, Fire TV and Ring, plus TVs, headphones, kitchen gadgets and toys. Lightning Deals are limited in time and quantity, so add items to your cart early.

Walmart

Walmart has not announced its 2026 dates yet. In 2025 it ran two waves of Black Friday deals, one in mid-November and one in Thanksgiving week, with Walmart+ members getting five hours of early online access to each wave. Walmart now focuses on limited-quantity "special buys" instead of traditional doorbusters, and these usually sell out online first.

Target

Target has confirmed its 2026 plan: a new Deal of the Day every day from November 1 to December 24, a three-day early Black Friday sale from November 5 to 7, and limited-time weekend offers from November 14. Target Circle Card holders save 5% on purchases, and orders over $35 ship free.

Best Buy

Best Buy is the main stop for electronics. In 2025 it ran early Black Friday deals from late October and its main sale from November 20 to 29. Laptops, TVs, gaming and smart home devices get the biggest cuts. Keep in mind that Best Buy does not match competitors' prices during its Black Friday period, so compare before you buy.

Costco

Costco's 2026 holiday sale runs in two waves, October 30 to November 15 and November 16 to 30, with online-only deals on Thanksgiving and Black Friday weekend deals online and in warehouses. Costco also refunds the difference if its own price drops within 30 days of your purchase, which makes buying early less risky.

Lowe's and The Home Depot

Lowe's has the longest Black Friday season this year, with deals running for four weeks from October 29, a 12 Days of Deals event from November 16, and doorbusters on appliances, DEWALT, Kobalt and CRAFTSMAN tools and pre-lit Christmas trees. The Home Depot has not announced 2026 dates, but in 2025 it started early savings on November 5 and ran its main sale online into early December. Both stores exclude Black Friday promotions from their price-match policies.

Kohl's and Macy's

Both department stores run several rounds of sales. In 2025, Kohl's held an early sale from November 7 to 9 and a Black Friday Week from November 23 to 29, with Kohl's Cash earned on top of sale prices. Macy's ran early access deals in mid-November and a Black Friday Week through November 30. Bedding, kitchen gear, coats and beauty gift sets are the best buys.

Apple

Apple rarely cuts prices directly. Instead, it runs a four-day shopping event with an Apple gift card on eligible purchases. In 2025 that ran from November 28 to December 1. If you want a straight price cut on an iPad, AirPods or a MacBook, big retailers such as Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy usually beat Apple's own offer.

Price Match and Price Adjustment Rules on Black Friday

Many shoppers assume they can buy early and get the difference back later, or ask one store to match another's Black Friday price. In most cases that does not work during Black Friday. Based on the 2026 policies published so far:

The safest approach is to buy from the store that already has the lowest price and keep your receipt in case its own price drops further.

Holiday Return Windows

Most big stores stretch their return windows over the holidays, which matters if you are buying gifts in November. These were the 2025 rules, and stores usually repeat them each year:

• Amazon: items bought November 1 to December 31 could be returned until January 31.
• Walmart: most items bought October 1 to December 31 could be returned until January 31.
• Target: electronics and entertainment bought November 1 to December 24 could be returned until January 24, with shorter windows for some items such as Apple products.
• Best Buy: purchases made October 31 to December 31 could be returned until January 15, with a restocking fee of up to 15% on some opened electronics.
• Macy's and Sephora: holiday purchases could be returned until January 31.

Always check the 2026 terms at checkout, especially for phones, tablets and opened electronics.

Best Stores to Shop by Category

Beyond the big-box retailers, these are the brands and stores most worth checking during Black Friday, grouped by what you are shopping for.

Tech and Electronics

Electronics had the deepest average discount in 2025, about 31% at the peak. Laptop makers such as Dell and Lenovo usually start early deals well before Black Friday. Samsung often adds trade-in credit on top of price cuts on TVs and phones. Anker and Baseus are good for chargers and power banks, EcoFlow for portable power stations, JBL for headphones and speakers, and B&H Photo Video and Adorama for cameras, lenses and creator gear.

Home and Kitchen

Furniture and appliances averaged about 19% off at the peak. Wayfair runs big sitewide sales on furniture, rugs and bedding. Dyson cuts prices on popular vacuums and hair tools, which is rare outside Black Friday, while Shark offers similar products for less. Traeger grills are a popular gift, and Lowe's is offering early access to new Traeger grills for its rewards members in November. For farm, pet and outdoor gear, Tractor Supply runs its own seasonal deals on fire pits, gun safes, workwear and pet supplies.

Clothing and Shoes

Apparel averaged about 25% off at the peak, but many brands add extra codes on top. Nike is strongest on sneakers and activewear, with Under Armour and Puma close behind. Gap and Old Navy run storewide percentage discounts on family basics and winter coats, and SHEIN adds extra percentage-off codes on already low prices. For designer labels at off-price, Nordstrom Rack runs deep markdowns, True Religion is worth watching for premium denim, and Hunkemoller discounts lingerie and nightwear.

Beauty

Beauty brands focus on gift sets and value bundles. Sephora and Ulta Beauty are the main places to compare, and Bath and Body Works is the classic choice for candles and stocking fillers. Too Faced is popular for makeup gift sets, and Ulike IPL hair removal devices are one of the bigger beauty-tech buys of the season.

Toys, Kids and Pets

Toys averaged 28% off at the peak and stayed around 23% off in the first week of December, so there is less pressure to buy on day one. LEGO usually holds an Insiders Weekend before its official Black Friday sale, Carter's runs doorbuster prices on kids' clothing and pajamas, and Owlet discounts its smart baby monitors. For pets, Chewy and PetSmart are the stores to watch.

Gifts and Travel

Samsonite is worth checking for luggage before holiday trips, Etsy for handmade and personalized gifts, and Shutterfly and Snapfish for photo books, calendars and cards, which are often at their lowest prices of the year in November.

Your Black Friday Game Plan

1. Now to early November: make a list, note today's prices and set a budget. Sign up for store apps and memberships that give early access, such as Walmart+, Target Circle and MyLowe's Rewards.
2. Early to mid-November: buy from early sales when the price already matches what you were waiting for, especially at Costco, which refunds its own price drops within 30 days.
3. Thanksgiving week: check each store's coupon page on BunnyCoupon so you know which codes are live, and fill your carts in advance.
