What Target's Black Friday Looked Like in 2025
Target followed a similar plan last year. Its early Black Friday sale ran November 6 to 8, with most deals at 40% off or more, its Black Friday week deals began on Sunday, November 23, and the Black Friday sale itself went live online on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, and in stores on November 28. Typical 2025 deals included:
- 40% off pajamas, select LEGO sets and Champion clothing
- Up to 50% off small appliances and floorcare, including Ninja
- Up to 50% off select toys, including Barbie and Hot Wheels
- 40% off select holiday decor and lights
- 30% off Levi's clothing for women and men
Expect the same categories to lead in 2026, especially toys, home and holiday decor. Target says most of its new holiday items this year cost $20 or less, with thousands of gifts at $5 and under.

Price Match and Returns
- Own-price match only. Target no longer matches competitors such as Amazon or Walmart. Its 14-day price match guarantee refunds the difference if Target itself lowers the price within 14 days of your purchase. Clearance items and some promotions are excluded.
- Holiday price match. In 2025, Target ran a Holiday Price Match Guarantee from November 1 to December 24 that covered its own later price drops. Check Target's site for the 2026 terms before you rely on it.
- Returns. Most items can be returned within 90 days, and Target Circle Card holders and Circle 360 members get an extra 30 days. Electronics have shorter windows, though Target usually extends them over the holidays.
Is Target Open on Thanksgiving 2026?
Target closed its stores on Thanksgiving Day in 2025 and is expected to do the same on Thursday, November 26, 2026, though it has not posted its 2026 holiday hours yet. Last year, Target's Black Friday deals went live online on Thanksgiving Day, so you can still shop from the app or Target.com.
